Well this is one of the hectic Chinese New Year I’ve ever been, or so. I think rebel teenage year would be much more hectic, but now, I do not have the stamina for such trips and days for holidays.

Yes, it is just a holiday for an adult.

Phuket, Thailand 2019

First, we went to Phuket for a quick getaway. After wife nagging me for not travelling for years after our son’s birthday.

Kuching, Sarawak 2019

After Phuket trip, a one day rest at home and we went to Kuching for another quick getaway. Well, it was impromptu actually, we didn’t plan to go to Kuching after the Phuket trip. But mom called, all sibling going to Kuching this year, so I guess a family gathering should be in the card.

The bad news is, the MacBook is acting up again. I know, what a little thot! This time the battery warning came out, and while I tried to do an SMC reset, it refused to boot up. It’s lay in the hotel room for the whole Kuching trip and I’m working on an iPad.

Yes, everything is offensive. Every single word is offensive as well. Nowadays, people learning too many words and putting too much emotion on wording.

Try those common swear word, or any swear words and everyone getting offended.

I grew up in a household that speaks swear word. As you know, these words are enhancing wording to help emphasize a certain situation. So we all know it’s just word to help the sentence. What is the big deal of it? The whole family speaks about it.

Now? Because we keep those words aside for far too long, when you use one of those words, people get offended. Remember:

Sticks and stones may break my bones. But words can never hurt me.

Learn to use that shit!

Yup, we all heard the story about how digital nomad was cool and work everywhere, anywhere, any time and of course every time.

It sounds cool when one can work at Starbucks, but it’s not that cool if you think about it from another perspective.

First of all, there is no holiday. I already forgot how to enjoy a holiday. Note that I have been freelancing and has never really gone out of work (touch wood, it never going to happen), so I have been constantly working all the time.

25th December is the big holiday, I dare say almost all countries are having a day off, but not online shop owner, like myself and my wife. The next 6 days aren’t short of work either.

It’s not exactly an easy job to trade for flexible time. Sometimes, a 9 to 5 job sounds great for me.

At least this video is honest. Save, save, save and more save to have enough for retirement, and if you’re lucky and “hardworking”, you eventually get to retire younger.

One more thing in the video, the compound interest thingy. Used to be very technical financial word for me until I learn more about it, make sense.

Using the old saying from Gandhi (surprisingly still work for today): Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.

We all consuming electronic good more than anything else, that’s the reason we cannot retire young. Not only that, we prefer to pamper ourselves as soon as possible than later or slower.

I would agree to have the death sentence to stays instead of removed. One of the reasons people don’t go outside killing other people is the punishment you get after the action.

Punishment of holding up oneself inside a cell for a number of years with food, healthy activity and community (abide possible bad influences) is not exactly a severe punishment.

There is every reason to keep the death sentence, but only one – and only one – reason why we should repeal it – innocent people.

So we should work on a great investigation team instead of removing the whole jungle for one tree.

It is the punishment that stopping people from killing another people, period. The only one punishment that can stop people from doing something we all agree to not want to is to give it a severe punishment.

What is wrong with “deleting” a drug lord when you catch one? When you found a virus on your computer, you don’t keep it there until your computer dies down, you investigate what it does, how it does, how many it did and you delete it.

It’s actually very easy: Buy what you can afford and need.

Everyone has something (or a lot of things) that you don’t need or have never used in the last 6 months, go into the storeroom and throw them away.

There are many things that you probably don’t need nowadays. I mean a watch? Really? Your phone is on your hand all the time, what’s the big deal to take a look there. Another shoe for leisure? Really? You can’t just wear the jogging shoe on your shelf? Hell, I even think facial foam wash is a waste considering I can just soap up my face with soap I used on my body.

A Macbook cost $1000, but you don’t have it, then don’t buy it, use what you already have or buy one that you can afford.

Besides a property and possibly a vehicle, I don’t see there is any need to take up a loan. Both of those are considered a large amount, the rest is just a small amount that you don’t need a loan or get into debt just because.

It’s always plus and minus, that’s it. You plus a laptop you minus money; you plus the money you minus time, and so on.

While I’m not a fan of any laptop type, as long as the laptop fixed my preferences and need, I’m good to go.

So far, all the laptops I used are upgraded because they are too old (at least 5 years). So I never really encounter any laptop fixing issue. I mean with a little optimization and app, a laptop usually works just well.

2016 was a great year for me to upgrade a MacBook 12 inch. I love it, portable enough and got enough resources to do all my task in my job. I mean what else can I ask for. Back then, nothing comes close to its portability, though now there are a lot more options for this kind of portability.

3 months in, the main board was burst, so I got it replaced. I have learned my backup since viruses were the common issue, so no biggy. But the issue I have with this bursting is the travel I need to go through, waiting time without a laptop, sharing a laptop with my wife. That is the real issue.

A few months back keyboard keys pop up, manage to stick it back in. Now, just after my warranty was over, another key stuck. Well, time to have another fixing.

This is the laptop that needed most fixing I have ever had. So get something else but this.
