WordPress 3.1…

Well, just out last night. The main problem for most WordPress users will be, to update or not, because there are plugins not compatible with it yet, or so the rating says.

I downloaded and see what is so good about it. Well, let’s not start a long whining like weight loss stories, keep it as short as I can…

Admin Bar

Admin bar
This is a good thing, at least I don’t need to keep logining into the admin panel, especially for those who is not comfortable to show a login link on the site. This too, helps developers to explain much easier on how to update a post in the future.

Color

Color
I always changed to blue color scheme. Grey is just too plain boring for me. This blue scheme color update is a great one nonetheless :)

Editor screen

Editor Screen
This is the one I was looking for all the time. I used to go to functions.php to remove those unnecessary boxes. Now it can be edited :) But then again… What’s the point about columns?

Post Format

Post Format
First it was Twitter, limited with 140 characters, then Tumblr came into play. I believe learning from both of them, user don’t like to update long copy nowadays. The last option to go is to let users has all the thing they wanted to do with a system. I wonder what Custom Post Type use after this feature…

Well, the rest is just some other options and settings :P But like usual, post format need to be manually input, unless using the tenwtyten framework.

Let’s talk insurance

Just notice that I’m coming to 26 this year. Since I’m already a married man, I think it is time for me to consider some insurance.

Some people may freak away of insurance, well, I did too last time. Because some insurance policies are just plain wasting money, unless, saving program. Anyhow, there are pros and cons in between all the policies.

Living room

The other day, I spend some times listening and questioning with my mother, who was an agent before. In short, insurance are…

A plan to relieved yourself

Joss stick
Simply put, you always carry a backup plan for anything you did, just in case. So you know you’re in good shape in case anything happen on your first plan. Insurance, works just the same, beside it cost some fee. Whatever shit policies normally just an exaggeration from the agent themselves, the black and white (contract) always the one that talk louder.

A bank if you will

Bank
You can literally take insurance agencies as banks, but a higher bonuses. Up until today, the FD banks can offer is around 2.0 to 2.5 p.a, insurance agencies dare giving 4.0 to 7.0 p.a without guarantee. Even the worst scenario, you’ll get back 100% of whatever you’ve saved. A forceful saving it called. That’s why it is called as a “Saving program” policy.

Emergency fund if you dare

Emergency
Seriously, think of this. You insure a RM100,000 for yourself. 5 years later today, you in need of RM25,000 or end on the street. Basically, you can just cop off your finger(s) and claim as accident and get the insurance pay you the sum. There are unlimited way of claiming insurance, it all depend on your creativity.

Medical card for fun

Medical
Unless you are staying in hospital, if nothing big discovered with you, there is no coverage. Basically, the medical card is just a plain wasting money. Malaysia government strongly recommend everyone to have a medical card that cost RM500 – RM2,000 per annual and top wages pay to only RM750 per month. Great governmental planning don’t it?

For my point of view, as long as one have some saving and willing to work hard and have a healthy lifestyle, there is no need of any insurance. So far I see majority old folk don’t even use more than RM50,000 in medical.

Like I said, buying insurances are just to have a backup plan for the “in case incident“.

2010 and all

I used to think that making a list of wishlist would motivate me. All my wishlist were temporary, they don’t last too long until I get bored of them, that’s why I don’t bother about the wishlist and all those. See what I can, get what I get when the time is right. Being motivated for a little item that I “want” sound a little bit naive for me :P Unless it is a “need” item. Anyway, here are some list I learned for the past 12 months.

  1. Friend in need is a friend indeed

When I was so busy running and preparing everything from 1 to 10 on my wedding preparation within a short 3 days time. A lot of friends came and offer their help to me. One friend came to me while I was taking rest, he said “What can I help you? You have only 2 hands, how much can you do?” and the rest become history and I’m so free after that.

  2. Work with a mean boss

Yes, that is a learning too. Because at least I know how it feels next time my friends told me about how mean their boss are.

  3. WordPress

I seriously got hooked up on the end of 2008. Though I was just playing with the theme only. After a few months on, I started to pick up quite some interesting articles and hacks on WordPress.

  4. Hard work don’t always pay early

While I was working as a construction labor, the hard work always pay on time, every month. But when it is white collar, hard work don’t pay every month on time. Hard work does pay, but not as early as you always expected. So it takes time. Starting from study and freelance to working and freelance, I just started to taste the little sweet on it.

  5. Health issue a bit

Though I always want to have more hair and use under eye cream to get rid of the dark eyes. Now I know that sleep well and eat well works. Nothing beat the on-time-delivery for the body. Yes, I started to grow my hair already

Done my BS… Love it when it happen spontaneously :)

End of a week

Not much to update, as I’ve been spending a week at home like usual :)

Disassembling Macbook

Ok, I have to admit I’m such an itchy hand person, I can’t stop it, it’s hard to stop anyway, so I kept it for years  Last night, when I finished my assignments and the time was still early, I went on and check my Macbook expire date… It’s October 2007, and now I’m on November 2007, I quickly took out all my screw drive and check to match the screws on the Macbook.
Opening Macbook
Damn, the first time I success to open out a laptop  Previously was an old Pentium 1 laptop, now it’s missing, anyway, that’s not my point. I have no idea why I took all my time open all the screws and see what’s inside and closed the cover back :? Too much time or just simply stupidity?!
Turning on an opened Macbook
As a little experience, I even turned on the disassembled Macbook and see how the fan works, damn I’m idiot!
Working fan
After that, I took an hour to update to the latest 10.4.10, QuickTime updated to 7.3, installed Safari 3 public beta. But the heat problem became serious after the update though :? Planning to downgrade back to 10.4.6 now, I hate the heating problem now!
