What made Sibu a boring town

Well, Visit Sibu 2009 has just past, but the program is on-going like all others government project. It’s always work until new name replaced it.
Since I’m not born in Sibu, I think I have more chance to give shit comment about it than not. Freedom of speech rocks!

6 shopping mall, none of them even close to attractive

Wisma Sanyan
Name it, Wisma Sanyan (tallest building in Sarawak), Medan Mall, Delta Mall and etc. They are not attractive because they are small. You can probably find the same shop/branches on all of them.

Lots of parks, no cleaning

Sibu garden
Sibuan like to have power and loves their association for some reason. Park or a Garden is their choice to be regconised for… I don’t know what reason. They would go 200% time and energy, placing all outdoor cushions over it, make it the best and cost the most. After building the park, that’s all. No renewal, no cleaning (well, maybe they do) and leaving them for years. Probably a month before election there will be some rennovation or cleaning.

Pasar malam

Probably like took some 150m x 30m of space. Due to the restriction of licensening and some say it is making the town look unattractive, so there is no new stall coming out. Well, happen like shopping malls, they all just the same.

I think beside drink, nothing much you can do in Sibu town at night. Nothing!

With the strategically located beside Rejang River, there is no plan for it at all. How stupid can this government be. It’s just a waste. Panda Cruise too, a waste!

Begin the day with new station

I like it when everything is ready and running. Since Sibu PC Fair was here few days ago, we spent some times in the fair to hunt for her new laptop and a LCD monitor :) Well, like usual, I can’t compare the price here with KL PC fair, everything seems to be more expensive, but a lot of freebie nonetheless.
Acer Aspire 4736G
We get this sexy upgraded machine :) Running C2D 2.2GHz with 4GB DDR3 RAM and a huge 500GB hard drive. It comes with Windows 7, without an OEM disk and Drivers disk.

I’ve been spending time to look for the wireless drivers which is not accurate on the information I found online :? She is using the ethernet connection at the moment.
Workstation
Including those table and chair, I’ve spent more than RM3K. Now it’s really the time to work :)

Working and eating

We work to eat, and eat to be able to work. That’s most of the thing I did this few days. Even my father in law warned my wife that don’t eat too much in Sibu and go home as a fat momma.
Nice dinner
In Sibu, we can get RM19 per kg of crab, while in Medan we get RM50 per kg of crab, imagine the differences. I am in need of fat burner or something else. Made an appointment with my friend to gym next week :)

P/S: Did you went to Sibu ICT Expo? Seems to be quite a good deal there, just got myself a laptop and a LCD monitor. More about that later :)

Heavenly holiday end soon

Everything is a mess here, especially on the legal document I thought I can finish here, it is now still on step 1 :( However, coming back here is a blessing. I have air-condition when I want, I have most TV channels I wanted to watch and eat whatever I want (err, price are getting high now). It’s like Outer Banks vacation rentals this time. Surely going to miss once I fly off this Sunday. Anyway, that however, give me a better impression about some service providers in Sibu.

First off, the Celcom service centre, way better than Ah D one. Ah D employees are like gangsters, look at me like I’m invisible.
Post Office Sibu
Questions:
Which one has a better postage services?
A, Pos Laju
B, Pos Express

Pos Laju is guarantee deliver tomorrow and Pos express has no guarantee. Don’t understand why, maybe they want to make “English” a lousier service?

Just send my document and waiting for the outcome. This has got to be the most legal thingy and running I’ve done just for one document from Putrajaya.

How I entertain myself in Sibu

Sibu Wisma Sanyan
Coming back to Sibu, I can’t help but to take a walk in Wisma Sanyan, it is something must-do everytime I came back. Because, Sing Kwok is full of smoke smell, Medan Mall takes only 5 minutes to finish the whole mall, Delta Mall also taking less then 5 minutes to finish the whole mall. The only mall that has more variety and can spend some times in it, is only Wisma Sanyan.
Sibu nice dinner
Seriously, eat is one thing we all must do, but to have a very nice dinner within a tight budget, Sibu it is. Crab, claypot, some meat, some vege, can’t cost you over RM100. Why not?

I really back loving Sibu, not only for the friends here, but also the environment :) It is a good choice to come back here instead. Due to my hectic activity last week, I got some fever, I guess. Time to get enough rest and back Medan again next 2 weeks. Gosh, I hate taking plane!
