Back when the Internet provider launched, I was thrilled. Not because it has good review, but because I need one without a fixed line. However, the good thing stays for 1 month, the most.

I called the support numerous time back then, and I gave up. Because I don’t see any logic in spending for support when they are the one who did not manage it nicely. AirAsia, at least have a Twitter account that is helpful enough. I mean, answer the direct question.

Unlike this Internet provider. I asked “Where can I terminate the service?“, surprisingly, they asked me back about my contract and stuff. I’m expecting an answer to my question, not a question to a question mind you? Then I asked “Do I get refund for returning my modem?“, they get smart this time, but not a good way though, their answer was “Let us check your account and get back to you“, I ended up waiting the reply for 2 days, but they did something else – Send me the last bill. Hmm… Still not getting smart eh?

So today, I decided to just dump the device since I’m not going to take on them anymore. What is the use for a modem by them, to them? Decoration? I wanted to burn the device, but consider the environment, I rather dump it for the expert to handle the recycle.

Back then, my landlord wasn’t an on-time person, TNB bill was “collected” up to RM2000 before he finally settle it. I experienced 2 blackout (for non payment of bill), 3 times Internet disconnection, oh 1 water disconnection. So I thought it was time for me to move out and get myself a backup Internet connection. But I did not move out, since the location is too good and near my work place. I, however, manage to grab a backup Internet connection.

P1 was launched for few months, so I thought to give it a try, since no telephone required. With it promised 14 days trial, it runs way too well. Very well consider a 400kpbs download speed.

However, from 15th day onward it was all disaster, until after a year. Though I did not terminate it due to contract I signed. I kept my promise with what I signed, but P1 never did so, I don’t believe a frequent disconnection is in best effort service. All I’m asking for an Internet connection is to be stable and running, slow doesn’t kills me at all. Consider I’ve been with Celcom broadband for long long time too.

After 2 years contract I’m ready to terminate after I got myself the broadband boss. So it is time to find how to terminate. Since P1 still new (Yeah, right).

Now… This is the problem, the modem stucked on my hand. I remember they announced that returning the modem can redeem back a RM50 note. So I’m going to tweet the support tomorrow. If no return accepted by then, check out my YouTube channel

First off, I don’t remember I “tick” the Sign me up for promotion/new product from P1 thingy when signing up for P1 years ago.

Months ago, I picked up a call while I was in Sibu. Obviously, I’m not using any P1 there, still, the phone rang, I picked up. Without asking if I’m still with P1 or not, nor asking if I’m happy with P1. The first thing they asked is my name, then telling me all about P1 wiggy, no contract was the only one advantage they can come out. (Psst, P1, time to do some research about the “contract” thingy?). I rejected.

Today, my wife is sick, so she takes a rest. While I’m sitting here working on a few project. Well, like usual, it gets all boring, so the phone rang.

P1 coming again, but this time, I spend some “quality” time chatting with them to “know more” about the so-called “contract-free” (Again?) and 4G that can easily topple Celcom broadband that even has contract (Don’t know why, I don’t have contract with them). After a good 10 minutes talk, I rejected. The caller changed the voice from persuasive to boring too. Don’t know why, the last line always so quick from them…

Celcom broadband is just too lousy here, don’t know why. It was so good back in Kuching and Sibu. Perhaps, it was the user base? Well, whatever, but it seems like P1 has made some improvement on their services.

I hooked up P1 modem with a Buffalo router. Well, sadly, I was one of the first few user who signed up for P1 service and get all the blood boiling.

Anyway, the connection was nice now, 2 users and sometimes more. Still runs good, the good news was I don’t need to keep adjust my modem to be near window just to get it to green LED Tomorrow is going to be a Cyber Monday!!!

Went for a short jogging, to calm down my blood pressure. I can’t help but crying while jogging because the broadband here. I know it sound stupid, but for me, Internet is my rice bowl you understand, I can’t help myself to not to get mad for this kind of service I get. I tried Streamyx, P1 and Celcom, none of them provide a decent stable and reliable connectivity for me. They sure frequent disconnect if not can’t connect at all. I wonder what is the motive behind this connection problem Malaysia facing.

Malaysia isn’t a very developing country, with GDP close to USD3800 and above, a lot of things should also following up. Or I can only assume “service” in Malaysia is not on the par with any other country outside? Services from government firm, police and all are all lousy. That’s why no body bother to go to police station for report, not because Malaysian are kind person, it is because no service in Malaysia is reliable.

Too be more positive, it is good to have a jog too, at least I don’t need to waste money on weight loss pills for the wedding photo shooting. Sigh… Just when I am free to pursuit all the left-over work on hand, services like this hit harder than any other time.

I have no choice but to give rant on my recent newly registered P1 wimax. There are too many things happen that I cannot stand on the unprofessional services. There are far too much area they needed to improve to compete with any other broadband service provider. This is my experience of the month

Customer service

Believe it or not, you need to pay your own for calling them. I don’t know what’s so difficult for a big company to get a 1800 hotline. Each time calling there’ll be at least RM5 for the waiting and listening to their advertisement. Not to mention the time you waiting for their reply.

Technician support

Well, what can I say? The same keep on repeating like how Streamyx asking you to restart modem, use direct connection and etc. They gone even worst by no technician coming to your house, even if they do, it’ll be like a month later. How to even compete with any other broadband provider?

Myth about connection

When they said, static green LED lighting means the connection is stable. But they never state that it can connect to the Internet. Trust me, it doesn’t. If this is not a myth I don’t know what is.

My belief about P1 is different though, because such simple task can’t complete should mean something, anything that isn’t about P1.

Out sourcing customer service

That’s why it charging me for calling them. Some more they’re all well-trained to say the same thing again and again and again.

Less to no technicians

Because P1 is way too easy to setup on your computer or laptop, there’s actually no need of any technician to even activate your account. So they think they do not need any technicians. One month is way too long to wait for one technician to come and check the modem or the wave (or whatever you call it is). And since there’s this thing called QoS management, the connection/modem can be easily boost up in no time. You call, we boost; you don’t call, we cut down so other can enjoy first before you call.

Myth is actually fact

Like I mentioned about the management system. You’ll have to check into QoS management and come back to here.

After being a happy customer for a month, I’m dropping back to shit the ISP provider now I don’t know what happen, but it just did. And again, I wanna say, Malaysia is hopeless… Here are my list of the week:

1, Dog abandon to an isolate island. SPCA seems working very slow too. Great, now we have cruel people and innocent dog. Medicare supplement are spent more than the cruel people on the island can think about. And since it is dog, people are still holding on the right side. Dog should be blame still. Right…

2, Ipoh no black day. Great now, even wearing also can be forbidden. Your government started to control your wearing already la… Lots of innocent people who did not get the news or the SMS got caught for… Wearing black. Right…

Shit you not, we all should be proud to be here doesn’t matter how, because we should love the land, not the government ya…

So I got P1 modem that not working at first. Anyway, this weekend I’ve been trying to make it work. Because some promoters kept telling me that my area has coverage but under maintenance and asked me to wait for another few more days or weeks to try it.

Going back home, I keep on adjust the location in my room and finally got some signal from the modem. Each time the LED light turned orange I’ll get my nerve up The connection is not as stable as I expected. What I expect was a stable connection that will not disconnect itself when it’s too free or on heavy usage. Pinging and test my speed on their website, it comes out…

This is when their connection showing some slow signal (Even the LED is in green color though).

This is when their connection is too good. And honestly this is the first experience on broadband. I signed up with the 400kbps package Shit you not, this tiny package speed beat Streamyx 1.2mbps hands down! Now I know what’s that call a “broadband”. But disconnect quite often though I’ve give it a test on downloading some files online…

Running at 40kbps is not easy in Malaysia. With Streamyx 1.2mbps at home, if it runs 25+kbps I could sleep smiling already.

Everything is good, just the frequent of disconnection. I’m waiting for them to upgrade a little bit. And pray the Lord this connection gonna keep as long as I’m using them. Because I hate it when they started to tell me connection is like water pipe, the more people using it the slower it will go or whatever reason.

I don’t know who to choose to blame over the connectivity of my P1, the promoter who excited to earn the commission I’m gonna pay him or P1 who did not give a full information for the promoter/reseller? I re-registered P1 again, because they mentioned that there’s coverage at my area, so happily I took the modem back home again thinking to be able to online using P1 instead of Streamyx. But there is thing I don’t know, and nobody told me until I called back into the customer support.

Under Maintenance

Well, if the maintenance only takes a few days is fine, because I got 15 days trial which I can still be able to test the connection. But this maintenance taking a few weeks!!! That’s the information I got from the customer support though.

Checking into P1 website for coverage, it clearly stated that my area have coverage already, but! There’s no indication about it’s under maintenance or even a simple quick note on the site (Like announcement in Streamyx site maybe?).

Here is so far I found from P1 customer support:
1, Don’t waste time email them from the contact form on P1 website. No reply from my side.
2, Give information that I already know. They don’t solve me problem, but give me some choices.

Hell, I’m giving it a few more days to see if the coverage is up or not. If not, send back the modem and I’m banning P1. If there’s connection, I’ll test it, if not satisfy, send back modem. In the end of the day, it’s Malaysia, nothing even close to the word “average”.
