Running business? Business running?

2 things, it is either you are running the business, or the business running for you. That’s it!

Sibu

This few days or weeks has been quite a hectic for me in my job. After the trip back to Sibu on early March, it felt like something need to be done and current way is not an option. Because currently, I am running the business, and not the other way round. Anything I do affect my business, especially my holidays.

Proton Saga

Because of having a cheap auto insurance with my newly bought Proton Saga BLM, I need to do some maintenance with it from time to time, I love it, but time doesn’t love me.

Though I think the business is running well at the moment, but the thing is, if I stop, they stop; I walk, they walk. That is the problem. If one has to keep doing in order to have the business running, it is much better to work for someone else.

Maybe I need some more books on business and management thingy…?

The time is back

2011, everyone is waiting for the right date again. When a new year approached, you’ll see lots of cubic zirconia rings, photographers as well as wedding cars around the town. All promotions coming and etc.

Wedding

It is also an indication that, everyone is back to business, but nobody is on full force :P

Every year, when the years started, we all wait for Chinese New Year, another holiday that require everyone (Or maybe, just Chinese fellow) to take flight back and away. So do I.

Business is back, but force is not back yet.

The whole situation is there already, the red things, the dong-dong-chiang musics and etc. Can’t blame me.

It’s life cycle

Today was a long afternoon. A friend called, so I went to have a long conversation and drinks. Well, does felt sorry for placing my wife at home alone working :P

Like usual, the conversation goes from reduce belly fat, startup, working life and etc. While on the conversation, I saw a boy carrying a basket of karipop and asked if we want to buy some. Reminded me of my… Teen-hood (is there even a word?).

A lot of my friend currently see me as a rich kid, who afford to study in Limkokwing University (is claimed to be the most expensive institution in Malaysia). Maybe my luck was good, my parents finance raised up around 10 years ago, so we all went to colleges and universities. My brother even a UK graduates ;)

Pedlar

Back when I was still teen, I used to force to wake up early in the morning, carrying some kuih-muih and sell in factories, while my mother, get some job from factories and work at home (see! SOHO was back in the 90′s!!!). Beside that, we even went from hawker stalls to stalls to sell off my mother homemade fashion-line, I learn finance, account and all sort of skill set from my mother if you asked me.

Some may think that I am kiamsiap (stingy), maybe I am. But when I saw the dead governor face on the note, I was reminded that this is a paper that is not easy to earn. Each cent is treasure.

Well, I am now in that situation again, go around, asking if anyone want to buy my “kuih”. Perhaps, a lot of thing are just a life cycle, the advantage is, has you been in the situation or not that count. Because as a small business owner (or entrepreneur as I would like to be called), this is a situation of test, a test of toughness :)

Talking about dare businesses

Comning back to this town, the only thing Internet is to most people are – 1, Facebook games or socialing with their cunsomer. 2, Sell product. That is good enough though. However, with all the booming of e-commerce in town, some are still lack of the “balls”

Business currencies

What I mean here is, they work like this – I buy from you, I sell to him. There will be no corporate in the process. No wholesale distributors were included in the process of making a sales. I’m not saying this is wrong with the whole process, but I have trouble with the little bit thing named “Market Pricing”.

I am no man in bussiness though. But I heard a lot of news about running businesses and I happen to have lots of friends, who are business majored.

Joining another field

Just made the stupidest (is there even a word?) decision of my life a week ago.

Construction

Putting my shoes into what my father likes to do most – Construction. Though I am not the one who working the labor jobs, but I have pressure everywhere since a week ago. There are still lack of ceiling, outdoor chair cushions, glass door and some floor tiles.

Each time my phone ring, I will get panic, even my father call me. Wonder when I got this kind of nerves-system.

I practically running 2 things, one at home, which I now work at evening and night; another one is at the site, which I need to make sure they work. You know those guys, onces you step a mile away from the site, they slow down already.

Lesson of the day: Do you work, don’t be stupid!
