Back home and start the year end tasks

Flight

Just came back from Medan. It’s been almost 2 years I didn’t visit Medan, the so-called second home for me :) Anyway, there isn’t much changes, beside those billboards. The traffic still that jam, the dust still that much and the people are still that slow.

However, the economy seems running so well that everything seems to made some price hiking. That remind me to work harder for myself too, seeing how Malaysia too have been making some price hiking activities.

Anyway, it was a good rest, beside checking and replying email, most of the time I was outside the house and my computer, good sign. Now that I’m back to office, time to pick up all the emails and tasks :)

I am in luck on this trip to Medan. I manage to catch up with those students who are in examination period, like PMR, SPM, STPM and etc.

The other day, while I was shopping for the best wrinkle cream in a mall namely Maxi Mart. I over heard some interesting conversation. I wasn’t aware that I was this “kepo” (busybody) until I notice I started to over heard some conversation.

What shocking was that these students, actually already has the leaked answers for their papers. Now, this is how they works. Due to the over whelming schools available in Indonesia, there will be a few set of papers targeting to different schools. So, getting (or buying) the right information is crucial, not only answers.

Now, I’m not finish yet. The next point is that, if you cannot get the right information and right answers, you can, of course bribe the examiner to pass you.

I must say, even Malaysia is corrupt, or even dropped a few point in the corruption index this year, it still cannot compare with that I know here. Why am I not proud to be Malaysian?

The currency confused

After all these years, I still haven’t adapt the currency over here in Indonesia. I am often confused with the exact value.

Rupiah

Probably I always tried to convert it back to RM and see if it worth the money.

The other day when my wife went for the saloon and I was waiting in the seat. I saw a lot (or should I say, all) of customers coming like a rich-momma, like you know, blink blink, sexy dress (I know, it’s disgust a bit in a way), nice high heel and etc.

Ringgit

After my wife finished, we went to pay, it was Rp350,000 I wasn’t sure if it is RM9+ or RM90+. I asked my wife and confirmed it was RM90+.

Everything here seems to cost a lot, even a small thing like weight loss pills also can seems like thousand rupiah. Just a small suggestion though… Can’t they just delete the last 3 zeros instead? Since it always end in a thousand anyway.

So I put 2 choices for myself. Either I don’t need to convert the currency or I’ll stay at home counting shit. I choose to don’t convert anymore…

Coming to Indonesia, 2 things I always expected, hot weather and blackout.

Probably the over populated city has come to a limited source of electricity. Almost everyday, I encounter a good 4 hours or less of blackout.

Now, tropical country, there are only hot and raining season. Due to the global warming that help speed up the warming process, we are in deep shit, seriously deep shit. Every year since 3 years ago, I can feel the weather getting hotter and hotter. Coming here for the 4th years, I can see some eczema growing on my skin, Yewwwk~

The good thing about coming here in Indonesia? Get good and enough food everyday; get enough and good sleep every night; get enough sauna at home everyday too.

The bad here? Well, teenager, you know… The typical kind :?

P/S: Just came back from a good 8 hours blackout… Worked for just 2 hours today. I luuve SOHO and I hate the blackout!

What I can do next

Not really. I haven’t figure out how to activate the Internet on my Simpati SIM card, so not so active on Twitter yet. But seriously, Twitter made me lazy nowadays, I would rather write a short one sentence instead of blog…

Anyway, finally my wife upgraded to unlimited broadband. Now we can online 24/7.

Modem

Now, here come the down side, blackout happen almost everyday since we’re here. The unlimited broadband has a bandwidth limit, once reached the limit, it slow down. :(

One last thing I’m looking for is either someone to have a drink together or something else to do – Exercise…?

J-Yoga

If only I brought the BSN cell mass, I would definitely give it a try :) I still not understand how a machine like this can: 1, help you to grow high; 2, flatten your belly; 3, build abs. It’s like a total BS to me, but hell that’s what I can do next!
