It is all about the latest and best code for the web developer. Nowadays, all web developers are talking about HTML5 or CSS3 and then more… I was and still wondering, do I need to take action onto them yet?
So far, I haven’t really thought about going in depth with both of them. I would rather spend time on rack card printing on promotion and marketing the business instead
HTML5 is not fully ready yet. It will be fully support only on 2022. 2022 is a long time, I am already 38 year old by that time, and I probably not venturing on my seat anymore.
In this 4000+ days, all web designers and developers are screaming and praying very very hard for the disappearance of IE6, and if it doesn’t, we will go through this same situation today, again.
I believe due to the unstable of HTML5 and CSS3 rendering, most browsers don’t dare to go further than the already-been-applied CSS3. Not much browsers are taking risk on this one. Oh, by the way, Apple recently launch a HTML5 demo page Looking good, like the rest of the browsers, too. No risk
I remember back few years, when I was browsing through YouTube, I saw a video about a minister telling another minister “Sini Malaysia, lu tak suka, lu balik China“.
While it was very clear that more than 300,000 are leaving Malaysia, now it is time to “fix” all the wrong thing. Not an outer banks foreclosures, but to not even give a cent for similar plan to go on.
Ministers agreed to keep all top students in Malaysia, so they don’t “taste” the oversea water and won’t stay there and don’t come back (I take that they forgot about how easily any talent can get a job in Singapore). The reason? To sharpen up local universities.
Erm… Wait… If it is yellow color, it will still be a yellow color doesn’t matter how many liter are you placing yellow color in the bucket.
Now it is very obvious the minister is saying…
Anyone who want better education, fork your own money, we government has no money already.
On the other hand…
Hm… Oh… It never change a thing since before… It’s not like you get their scholarship at all too!
Recently I hop around quite a bit of website. Some nicely designed, some great functional, some… Mistake.
Multilevel dropdown menu, one term that may not be too unfamiliar for most of us, be it a web designer or not. However, the problem lies on the way it coded. Back in 1999, this is not that easy to create a multilevel dropdown, and I always refer to Dynamic Drive for all the fancy thing.
Nowadays, to make a web more accessible, we use unordered list <ul> … </ul> to create menu, hence, it is a little tricking than using <table> … </table> like what I did back in 1999.
Bascially,
The first level is covered with one <ul> … </ul> then another list inside the first level <li> … </li>. Take attention to the gap between the first level <li> … </li> and second level <ul> … </ul>. They are closed.
The gap will, however, disallow a mouse cursor to point on it when moving down from the first level.
To understand the whole second level work, the appearance of second level is all depend on the selection of first level link. So, wherever the cursor be, it should be within a clickable area.
Most of the time, we would want to have some space in between each link. The correct way of doing it is to set padding on the link itself and not the list. The mistake one may make is to set padding on the list…
Take a look at the demo I created to find out what I mean by, not linking and doesn’t allow a cursor to go through the second level menu.
To refuse allegiance to and oppose by force an established government or ruling authority.
To resist or defy an authority or a generally accepted convention.
To feel or express strong unwillingness or repugnance: She rebelled at the unwelcome suggestion.
At some age, we started to become rebellious, we don’t wanted to be-controlled, but to-control. That’s why we started to get rebellious.
Most people wanted to control instead of being control. As for job, creative people tend to be more rebellious than other. That explain why there are so much of freelancer designer, and those wannabe.
Like, did you ever dream that you are in a perfect World of your own? Having everything exact and as you wish they all were? That is your way of controlling the World – Dream. This “control” is starting to get too over. We tend to take every single second or minute as a control too.
Look into Streamyx complaint, we just can’t stop complaining the slowness and instabilities; When paying in a cashier, we hope they are using the fastest, EPSON TM-T88IV receipt printer; We cheer up for a 7 second boot-up Google Chrome OS for it save 20 seconds each time we boot-up; The situation can go on and on.
I remember back in my college year, when I took Advertising as my major module, the very first thing the lecturer came in and asked was “How do you feel about me? Each of you describe me in one word“. We all sit there don’t dare to talk a word, instead we all looking for a nice word to describe her. That was her personal brand,
Fierce.
Recently I’ve encounter a little bit of problem with my personal branding or some say, image. Well, if the image is between you and me, I don’t give a damn at all. But it was in between family, that I hope you don’t give a damn too
A branding is like a packaging.
And so I need to re-package myself now. Time to place some shopping list of best wrinkle creams, Ba Wang hair grow shampoo, better suit and etc etc. Honey, it’s shopping time
