Tomorrow flight and today lazy

Phiew… Finally made it to the second interview and now I’m ready to go for a short vacation. Tomorrow afternoon I’m going to save 5 minutes and arrive in Medan

Dirty clothe – Checked
Passport – Checked
Rupiah – Checked

Done! Everything is there now. Should bring some of my omega fish oil instead of weight loss pills, freaking cholesterol keep raising!

Anyway, came back from the short interview and showed some portfolio, which I think not quite good for them. Some question really out of my expectation, and I am very lousy on explaining who I am and what I do actually. And I ended up having this question, but still, after a few trial or maybe experience of facing people, I don’t get nervous at all on this interview. I think practice make perfect is the lesson today.

Did I not mention about the interview? I don’t think the first time was the interview, however, I found out more about the college though.

I don’t know what department this is though, but it look much more better than any room in the college area However, I find the environment kinda tension there. Well, still the same, people are wearing black and only black. If I’m correct, grey color gives more space for creativity instead, why black?

Anyway, I’ve postponed my flight to Indonesia. There are some stuff I needed to settle up this few days. Let’s not pointing about money first, it hurt so much. I’ve been applying job from the internet, most job are based in Singapore (Yes, the initial plan), however, none of them reply, instead, my college replied me

Then, I took some times to talk with some lecturer, and friends who have bonding with college and applied in college. Until now, they all tell me that they’re waiting for reply and been interviewed for few times. Sound to me the college are looking for the best, also telling me the college is working slow. As for my previous queuing entry, some told us that they’re short of staff, and here my friends all telling me they’re waiting for reply. I wonder if I might need to wait for months for the reply as well? Maybe I should do some more Lipovox review and earn my own living first…

Changes that getting fired

The other day, when I went to college for my graduation ceremony, I quickly went to take some photos with the initial gown, which is different with others, because it’s for Curtin course. And it’s different with the other courses, sound like they’re separating with bacon of the month club. However, in the last minutes, like 10 minutes before we que up for arrangement, the authorities wanted us to change the gown.

This is to standardized the whole hall to have the same gown, good idea, that’s what I thought of on my previous diploma graduation. I have no problem with it. However, this only tell after I took and paid to the photographer on the previous gown and there is another shoot on stage, which now will be different. Just when all people thought that this college never can fool us anymore, and they still wanna do it for the last time I mean, the glowing gown need a tie to make overall wearing better, and I don’t have one

If anyone who attend that ceremony and open their ears, they will definitely heard something else then cheering for graduating. Hmmm… Who is gonna be fired?

A long waiting

This has got to be the longest waiting and queuing of the day in my life. I’ve been waiting and keep queuing for more than 5 hours just to get all my form signed. To be honest, it’s more or less like a day trip in college.

Each dot took me hours. And honestly I don’t understand one thing, why can’t everything in one place instead? Why must they all over the place and asking us to walk from here to there and if some mistake have to walk all the way back again and keep repeat? That’s why I always said the management is a mess, they rather invest more outside than inside.

This waiting room is the most ridiculous on I’ve ever seen, the heat and the volume around the room. It’s like taking ellipticals pills at sitting in a sauna. Even themselves told us that they are short of staff. Why this happening? This is the insider that should be fixed before yelling so loud at the outside. Or maybe this is just simply Malaysia style.

Management anger

I’ve asked a lot of friends about the campus management system. All of them start bitching about the whole unsystematic and slow working/forgetful staffs. I always believe that each home has their own poison, so is a university. You never been any other university, so you never how that college’s management might be, maybe they’re the same too. Limkokwing graduates has been a lot about how suck and how well their presentation (BSing) are. However, I think they are really well trained within the college itself.

Search around Google, Yahoo! or whatever search engine you’re using. There will be a lot of complains about the college. In order to help this reputation, you know what the university did? Open a few more branches around the world, to get more regconization around the world and parents about the power of the uni. The saddest part is they’re still leaving the wound as it is.

I remember few years back I was reading this interview article about Brother’s the car accessories, the boss (What’s the name?) said “A good management system is the key of successful business”. Wonder how come some Sarikean can do such a big business? Because of this very very common sentence. The university I’m with now, it looks to me like they’re investing more than reflecting, slowly but surely they will earn back, but reputation still cached on the internet la~!

Of creative lecturer and real creative people

Have been in the same college building for years and I notice the same common thing in a creative lecturer and a professional creative people (Was a part time lecturer before).

1, Creative lecturer only wants creative
Most creative lecturer only want creative and nothing more but creative. I’m talking about advertising module here. So there are areas that should be taken care as well besides creative of course. There are, branding, DNA, market, art direction and etc. But most lecturer that taught me before are concern about only creative, which ruin all the others areas completely.

2, Professional creative people
He was a part time lecturer in college before, so I am quite lucky to have him as my lecturer before. He require a lot, but this “a lot” has been a fulfilment for me, though it was a little tough as they are only part time no experience in “teaching” However, he covered all the area, the best thing is point 3.

3, Changing the whole idea
Sometimes I even wonder, is tutorial means getting the best from the lecturer or getting a thought by the lectirer? Most lecturers that taught me before like to change the whole idea and concept and replace completely to whatever they’ve thought and wanting me to change the whole thing. And I was naive enough to think that it was for my own good. The part time lecturer never did so, instead, he taught me to go ahead with whatever I have and give me some questions and pointing the area I missed out. He has never sent me ANY idea, but keep pushing me on the art direction nonetheless, which I was expecting to learn more about in the final year.

4, Paper paper and more paper
Everything lecturer taught is about paper, everything paper, doesn’t matter the paper is right or not, just follow the paper. Which limiting students like a high school. Am I getting an adult learning or the common Malaysia education? Yes again, the part time one, don’t care much about the paper, thought he gave some notes, but most of the time, everything need a fact and I’m done with my own new brief Well, at least I can search soemthing out than the paper that I don’t even know where to start first.

You ask me why am I still studying? Getting more mind thinking instead of mind filling I tell you. If not the college, I wouldn’t be able to write so many today. Still have to thanks to college…

Power of branding and gossip

It was a hot afternoon and one of the lecturer invite my friend an dI for a lunch. We talked a lot, a lot about complaining the lecturer and being complained by students. This lecturer has been complained countless time for not being too many works at home and students would need to abandon other modules for only her module. Interesting enough, the lecturer said. “They can don’t do my work, they can do others module also.” Correct. Why must the students put full force on her module only? That’s the power of a person image and the gossip of senior.

The branding. She was and admitted as the lecturer who give lots of works. Targeted a very high standard of work. I know it because few years back she taught me before, then few months back she taught me again. 2 different person, same branding to all student still. See! The power of personal branding. Well, before even she taught me, there’re a few senior told me about her already, and I don’t know how can it keep until today. Anyway, though she has been in this position, she still gets lots of birthday invitations, party invitation from the students.

Heh… Better make a good impression before I’ll be a bad one next time

The Experience Again

It’s been don’t know how long I have this experience already, few days ago, it came back again. The chick talk Really, you have gotta really listen to what they actually say…

Chick A: Oh, so how is your hunting going?
Chick B: Neh… No more now..
Chick A: How come? Is it that who who XXX from XXX?
Chick B: Hmm… Thing was bla bla bla

So, they do share a lot on the whole process and talk a lot about it. Guys don’t talk shit like that I tell you. Then they go on and on about the rest. I am really curious about how actually chicks talk when they get together. Don’t matter what kind of personality they have, once they’re in group, they started to become like teenagers talking those? I don’t know, if there’s any female visitor, enlighten me

It’s About Long Hour Class

I went to class the other day. The class was long enough, it’s full 6 hours class and the lecturer used the full 6 hours teaching us EVERYTHING he know, really. And I looked into my timetable and knew that I would have 5 study days, I’m shock. If this kinda class need to be attend 5 days, where can I get some spare time to do my own stuff? I looked for the year leader for this piece of timetable and asked him if this timetable is permanent or it will be fix again later…

Me: 5 study days? That’s busy wei…
Year Leader: Well my boy, that’s what you paid for right? Worth it!
Me: Erm… You’re right.

It remind me about one of my friend who told me exactly the same thing before. College, you paid not only to attend class, but also to make yourself busy with it. But it’s true, the reason I go college is to study, 5 study days means the college maximized my study time in the college and full use my tuition fee, correct? Better make sure I can still blog here everyday.
