Take leave from office

It’s been a few months since the last time I went to my second home, Indonesia. The good and best thing to be there is, everything seems to be cheaper than in Malaysia.

Massage SPA

I love the massage SPA. Full body massage cost only less than RM25 per hour! Last night packing and found a few tanning lotions, probably time to use it again :D

Later will be flying all the way to Jakarta, for 5 days 4 nights. On one quick side, I have a relative wedding dinner, on the other, going to meet some long lost friends and maybe looking for some business opportunity.

Biggest city in Indonesia, I wonder how jam it is?

Some movies week

Last weekend was a movie week for me. After ordering the last post card printing for next week.

The Social Network

The Social Network. A story about how Facebook was founded. One interesting point was “All they are now is “It’s cool!”", so they don’t advertise on it, they keep on invest money to keep the cool going.

A lot of entrepreneur nowadays just want to earn some buck quick and fast. No free stuff, all paid stuff and even if free, all advertisement around. Don’t believe, check infoyana.com and see how all those user spam around with ads, annoying.

Wall Street

The Wall Street. I seriously don’t understand a thing in there. But it remind me of the video I watch before, call The Crisis of Credit Visualized.

The Crisis of Credit Visualized from Jonathan Jarvis on Vimeo.

No need to understand, just follow the economy news. If it’s down, we all down, if it’s up, we all can start spending.

The missing thing

I remember back in my freshman year in college, I borrowed $1.99 from my father. To start off my own domain thingy. Started with 1 then 2 then 3 and so on. I was so obsessed with free directory submission. Every domain name I have, I will submit it to free directory. It wasn’t until Google started to pop into my browser (Was a Yahoo! guy before).

Directory

Nowadays, I don’t know what else can help traffic if not social media. So I didn’t check any directory for few years and did not submit them as well. Nowadays, it’s all about the technique of getting/attract people to a certain site.

Most people use the word “attract” because people want more interactive, that is the missing thing back in the years. So whatever I’ve learn from the mistakes I made years back is not working today. Re-learn is the way… That explain why I hate CSS3 and HTML5 now. Unless, of course, I’m not in this field when they launch.

Using remote database on WordPress installation

Remote hosting database for WordPress

Recently I’ve just install a WordPress on a server while using another server database. So I figure it was good to shows how to do it. I’m working with cPanel, so this is going to be cPanel installation.

Remote MySQL

First off, go to cPanel and look for “Remote MySQL”. It is to allow a certain IP to access the database. Even your computer, as long as you know your Internet IP address.

Remote MySQL IP

When you logged into Remote MySQL, it will ask for a IP address, you can use the installation server IP address. So it allow the installation to access the database.

Wp-Config.php

In wp-config.php file, look for line 28, change it (refer above screenshot) to the cPanel IP address.

Voila! You have used an external database for the new installation. Of course, there are some reasons to use a remote host database. Hope that help :)

Black Sunday

Calendar

Did not caught up in Black Friday, instead, I’m in a black Sunday. Well, can’t really blame anyone beside myself. Need to really really pick and choose sometimes. This quote is VERY VERY useful.

Not all who talks a lot and explain a lot, don’t really mean they can represent themselves.

Instead, they can’t represent themselves. I have worked with numorouse people who talk a lot and “like” can explain themselve. At the end of the day, they can’t. Nothing made sense at all when they tell the second time.
