Slow down on gear one

Calendar
The big day coming soon, and I still have a few projects on hand :P Girlfriend is definitely giving me the darkest face ever all day long.

However, it’s been a few weeks I haven’t get any income already :( I wonder if this field is ready for me or not. Previously while I was still studying, a small sum is enough for me. As I grown up, the value of exact same paper becoming smaller and smaller. That’s not the economy, that’s my desire, I guess.

Until today, 2 weeks before I march into church with my girlfriend, I still arrogantly accepting more project, which, like usual, haven’t have a deadline from the client. Though I always keep a deadline for myself (that’s why I have so many free time on hand :) ), but like all designers facing, things always get mess up and last minute in this field :(

Of Bahasa Melayu

No, I’m not going to type Bahasa Melayu here, but I have things to tell about Bahasa and us, as Chinese-Malaysian.

It has been quite a long time since I step into church. I came here to Medan and started to attend church again on the weekend. The funny thing was, I attending Bahasa Indonesia language, which is still ok for me, understandable. Consider how many times I come to Medan and approach numerous time by agents about health insurance leads and bla bla bla on complex :)
Cross
However, today I was luckier, some Penangites came to the church and start sharing the experience or sort. However, this Chinese-Malaysian has difficulty on speaking Bahasa Melayu (the Malaysia one), on the opposite, all Chinese-Indonesian can speak rather fluent Bahasa Indonesia. How pathetic Chinese-Malaysian to be a Malaysian, we don’t speak our own nation language well.

1MalaysiaIn order to help 1Malaysia going, I believe nation language also the key? While a lot of my friends came and tell me it is useless to learn Bahasa since it’s going to be used only in Malaysia or maybe a little bit in Indonesia. But I’ll say, to know your nation language is to become a nation of its country, unless, of course, you’re not Malaysian.

P/S: I have to start learning Bahasa also now…

One slow one speed

I can’t really tell if I’m slowing down already, but a few thing is speeding up it progress for sure. With a rack mount of work waiting for me to finish, there are a few… Well, quite important thing to follow up with. Well, here is the usual short and to the point update from me again :)

  1. Getting pay

It’s been a week more I did not receive any payment from my work :( Not sure why, I have the habit of not pushing for the payment, but keep working. That’s why I have a girlfriend cum assistant cum colleague cum friend to keep remind me about that.

  2. Lesson of a lifetime

    Hair
Grow some hair before a shooting for an album that meant to be kept for a lifetime.

  3. Digi spamming my SMS, bastard wasting my Digi credit

Not sure why Digi likes to spam their customers (I heard a lot of people getting it too) with thei SMS. From their promotion to match making smses, annoying! And some bastard called me on my Digi number while I’m at Indonesia, costing me a whopping RM2.50 per block.

Today is “Black Friday”… And I don’t even know what that means! Go back to my work now…

Busy weeks ahead

Just when I thought I have more free time and relaxing day here in Medan, some emails bounced in and time was then taken away from me.
Projects
Although it is always good that I get to work on projects. But I do wish to have a vacation too, still haven’t learn to say “no” on my job yet :? Currently working under no air-conditional condition, unlike Sibu, where I can on air-conditional whenever I feels I want :( I hate Indonesia infrastructure… Take it as a austin weight loss programme, at least I sweat for doing nothing :?

Going off from all the social media for now until I’m free :)

Namecard is essential

Been going out with my friend at night recently. Since his work require meet up with contractors, I started to know some of his contractors as well. From big to small agencies.
Outting
He nicely introduced me to them and I start tagging alone with their conversation, sometimes. Until they asked me what I do and all those details about web thingy, they asked for a namecard. Which I did not prepare that. Since I work mostly on web, and staying at home most of my time, I did not bother much about namecard…

The other day, when I was out meeting a client, he asked for namecard too. I thought, since we talk through email already, I don’t have to ready for that :P Oh, on a side note, netbooks has it own strength when it comes to meeting outside.

Now that I learn lots of “namecard” lesson, I got it ready to print. I definitely print it on Medan instead of KL now after knowing the printing price previously
